The How to Fish community has a Thunderstore category with downloadable packages. For most players, a mod manager is the simplest starting point; manual BepInEx setup is an alternative. Check each package’s dependencies and game-version notes before installing.

Browse Thunderstore packagesSelect the game in a Thunderstore-compatible manager, create a profile, then install a package from its listing. The manager handles declared dependencies. Launch through the modded profile and test one package at a time. Package authors may require extra steps; read the package page rather than assuming that every plugin works the same way.
Open its Thunderstore category and select a compatible manager.
Keep a separate unmodded profile for comparison and recovery.
Check dependencies, game-version notes, controls and recent changes.
Launch through the profile; add packages one at a time if troubleshooting.
The BepInEx installation guide says to choose a build matching the game, extract it beside the executable, then run the game once to create configuration files and logs. For this game, the ConsoleMod author’s manual instructions specify BepInEx 5.4.23.5 x64 and the inner folder containing How to Fish.exe. Verify that requirement against the package you are actually installing; do not assume one version fits every mod.
These are examples with direct Thunderstore listings, not a “verified safe” ranking. Features below are attributed to package authors. This site has not tested their binaries or current compatibility.

We cannot guarantee that a community mod is safe, works on Steam Deck, preserves achievements or leaves saves unchanged. Treat those claims as unconfirmed unless you can verify them for your own version and setup.

We cannot guarantee either. Community package descriptions are author claims, not a security audit or game-developer endorsement. Back up saves and read recent compatibility reports before use.
